WHO ARE WE?
Oasis in Sosua is a rental condo community on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.

We offer long-term rental apartments for people who
- want to live in the sun, in a relatively low cost economy
- are still working, but can use the Internet to work remotely from wherever they want. We have strong wi-fi - tell us what you need
- have retired and are looking for somewhere to move to a more relaxed lifestyle
- want to avoid the isolation and the transport costs and security risks of a villa out of town
- want to shift gently and gradually into a new country and environment
- like being able to speak their own language (we speak English, French, German, Dutch, Italian as well as Spanish).

We don't just rent condos, we provide a community, with information, contacts, assistance. At Oasis in Sosua you are not just a customer, you are one of us, "familia". We are here to help whenever you ask. We have residents who stay for many years, and winter guests who return year after year.

If what you want is a quiet place to live, and avoid the chores of managing your own property, then you are welcome to just rent a condo here and ignore us.
WHAT DO WE OFFER AT OASIS IN SOSUA?
Our condos are designed for singles or couples who want to live in a comfortable, clean, safe and peaceful apartment. With help to hand. We are ready by design to provide whatever help you need, e.g. with lifting, carrying, fetching shopping or other physical efforts. Meanwhile we take care of cleaning the pool, the buildings, the garden, we do preventive maintenance and repairs to keep everything clean, tidy and working, we deal with any local shortages of water and power, (including backup power from our own generator), keep the internet running, the gas flowing, the lights, the a/c units, the pumps, the washing machines working, fix the locks, the windows and screens, provide security and general assistance. You tell us about any issues, we fix them just as soon as we can. Paradise sadly does come with a flip side - a destructive climate, unreliable utilities, and mosquitoes. But those are our problems, we take care of them, while you can relax and get on with your life, your work, or planning your move, building a new home, adjusting to the Caribbean.

We are located close to the centre of the El Batey district of Sosua, away from the "strip" but within 10 minutes' walk of almost everything El Batey has to offer, including: beaches, restaurants, bars, banks, nightlife, supermarkets, stores, local transport, filling stations - the hospital is about 15 minutes's walk. You do not need to hire a car if you stay here (if you want one to tour the area, there is well-lit street parking directly outside.

Our staff are available to assist you in the daytime and evening as needed to carry or move heavier items, and they keep the place clean and tidy. Enjoy the shady seating areas and the sundeck around the pool, the gardens, and take a dip in the sparkling pool. For the more physically fit we have an exercise room and rooftop sundeck. There is a boules/boccia ball court too. We have a café that prepares breakfast to order, with free coffee (depending on level of occupancy, may close in summer). We hold occasional community barbecues, and you can use the barbecue too - just tell us you want it. There is a common room with games, puzzles, cards, a small library and a 50-inch TV to watch the big matches or films (individual condos have 40 to 43-inch smart TVs). These facilities are available to all residents, and you are welcome to invite a couple of friends over.

WHAT DO WE NOT DO?
We do not accept pets (sorry, we simply don't have the space), nor do we normally accept children under 12, as the pool is deep and therefore dangerous, and noise can become an issue (talk to us if you think we should make an exception). We are not a party site: at night, we ask residents to be quiet from 11pm to allow others to sleep. We do not allow prostitutes on the site (Sosua has a problem with sex tourism: we don't allow that to invade our premises), and also no overnight guests - only those named when renting.
