1. Dipping your toes in the (warm, blue) water

You are thinking about how to live your own Caribbean dream. But before committing and selling up at home, you want to come down for an extended stay. See if the reality matches your dream. It is especially a good idea to stay here in the low season (come here April till October) which most tourists never see. Life is different (still wonderful, but different).

3. A watched plot DOES get built

They say "a watched pot never boils". But when it comes to construction, the opposite is true. Especially in the Dominican Republic where out-of-country too often means out-of-mind. Your new-build or remodelled or renovated home will advance faster, better and more in line with what you want if you are here to oversee the process. So come live at Oasis in Sosua while you do so. 5. Time to hand over the reins

Or maybe wondering how much longer you will be capable of driving into town?

You know are ready to sell, or have already sold your home to move down here. You want to be on the spot to find the right place to live, the right property to buy, or plot to build on. To take a good look round and learn more about what you need to consider before putting your money down. You want to spend a few months learning all you can about the opportunities, the pitfalls, the good ideas and the not-so-wonderful. Not only can you enjoy your time here at Oasis in Sosua, but we can very much help you with information, contacts, advice and assistance.
4. Time-out
to adjust
You already live here, but are going through a life change of some kind: downsizing, upsizing, right-sizing or improving your living arrangements here, or you need to trim or can expand your budget. Take a few months' time-out to sort things out, make decisions, look around, without a fixed deadline looming ever closer. Come stay here while you work things out. We can also help you do whatever needs to be done to move you forward, if you want assistance. Or just a sympathetic ear.
6. Just dropping out & dropping in

Lucky you - able to take a year out. Maybe working remotely, or on a sabbatical, or just quitting working for a while to follow a project you have had for years. You need a location with good, solid wi-fi, peace and quiet, a desk and office chair. Well-managed, with cleaning and maintenance that keep everything working. Ideally with nearby restaurants and bars, supermarkets and banks. And a beach within an easy walk.
